Star Alliance lounge options for a 5HR layover in YVR?

Traveling from ORD --> YVR. Looking for a layover lounge option in YVR. I understand there's no United Club (please correct me if I'm wrong), but that there's some Air Canada equiv I can get into - Maple Leaf? That said, it sounds like they aren't taking new paid day passes, only membership customers. Can anyone confirm/deny?

I get 2 free passes to UC per year with my cc, but I have been advised by others in the sub that this "doesn't count" as membership, so I am not sure I can just go to any star alliance lounge.

Help would be appreciated, I don't mind posting up for a few hrs between flights but would highly value a private experience.
