My flight from IAH - Santa Barbara with a connection in Denver was delayed. The flight from IAH to DIA was delayed an hour. Then when we arrived to Denver, we ended up wing delayed over two hours. I think we ended up landing in Santa Barbara around midnight. That was my only night to explore the city and nightlife because I was busy the best few days and nights with events. We also arrived after the rental car counter closed and I missed out on a day that I had already paid for in addition to having to pay for Ubers from the airport and back the next day to pick up my rental.
I wrote to United and described the situation and the inconvenience and they issued me a $75 voucher. My flight was booked late and cost over $800.
Is this normal or should I be offended? Would I get better treatment if I had status on United?
