Multiple flushes question please

We have been growing a while but have come across a lot of contradictions and would like to know everyone’s opinions.
When going for a second flush after soaking are you putting the lid back on fully and sealing it like in the beginning stages where your waiting for colonisation or are you going straight to FC and giving it FAE and misting when needed
