Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. Thanks for the amazing community! Long story short, I got GT LC from SS last year and innoculated 6 UB bags (UVC room sterilization, SAB, 0.5cc per bag, good sterilization technique to the best of my ability). It look 1 month to show 70% innoculation at 75-80 F before stalling for the 2 weeks that followed. All 6 bags had ample uncolonized grains after opening-- far cry from solid white. I did B&S twice during the innoculation period and had 10 punched double-sided holes per bag for FAE (chip clip tek).
Anyway, I proceeded to S2B on Feb 1st with all of thr UB bag contents including partially colonized grains (2 UB bags per 6 qt shoebox, coir only, oven pasteurized, 2" to 2 1/2" total depth). After S2B, I kept the temp 70-75 in my makeshift incubator and never opened the lids to prevent contam due to the presence of uncolonized grains. Each box has 1/4 inch casing layer. No sign of contamination yet but colonization is moving as slowly as innoculation. The attached pics are from today (1 month after S2B). I am losing hope that these boxes will ever fully colonize and/or fruit. Maybe I am being impatient, but I am doing something wrong given how quickly other folks go from innoculation to fruiting, like under 6 weeks. Should I go to fruiting conditions now, or wait longer for more colonization? Should I start misting and fanning?
At this point, I am thinking about neglecting these boxes altogether and starting from scratch with a different LC vendor. The only place I can put my finger on is having started with poor genetics.
Any comments, thoughts, and suggestion are appreciated!
