Hi Everyone,
Unraid has made some amazing steps forwards since my first build almost 10 years ago. I love checking out the updates every now and again, and have always wanted to rebuild my unraid.
And I also need a new gaming PC, so I was thinking about if it would be a good idea to make a unraid gaming build in one.
my only concern is from the electricity bill power consumption perspective. maybe its not a great idea to build a unraid with a 3060ti/3070 gpu using the i5 12400 cpu and 10 hdds. I only game a few hours a day, so a stand alone gaming build would be off the rest of the day and not using power.
But my Unraid server runs almost 24/7, but mainly spinning cache. The drives are old 2/3/4 TB WD red drives, probably a few greens in there too.
Does anyone have any thoughts here? Would it be a terrible waste of power to have an Unraid Gaming machine running 24/7?
Any other downsides to having a Unraid Gaming build?
