I currently have 2 servers.
One is a windows 2016 server running Plex server. It's old quad core Xeon CPUs with a total passmark score of 1700. My unraid server is a Ryzen 3 running 44TB storage pool with sonarr, radarr, sabnzb, deluge and jackett.
I want to consolidate into one powerful server to run everything. Was looking to put something together with a budget of ~$2500. I was looking at some dodecacore hyper threaded Xeon CPUs on Amazon for 175 each and a motherboard to house both for 600 that's an ATX form factor so I can use a standard case.
For those who run their Plex server off their unraid server. What issues do you see and what bottlenecks do you have?
I have 2 10TB parity drives for double parity and a mix of 3-10TB storage drives. I have a 2200 movie library and approximately 15,000 show and anime episodes. I'm a hoarder what can I say. My movie library is a mix of 1080p and 4k. I share with my siblings and have anywhere from 1-8 devices watching simultaneously.
Also how difficult will it be to transfer the array to the new hardware? I've done some reading and see it's doable.
Any and all advice is appreciated.
Edit: I want to have VM capabilities as well for testing purposes for work.
