Looking to get back into Unraid but need help with a build

Post Body

I'm starting to plan out my home media server build after a big move across the country that's happening early next year. I'm getting kinda sick and tired of using cloud-based storage, and after the GDrive debacle of pulling what was basically unlimited storage, I wanted to go back to having something local. The plan to build it is as follows:

Unraid server:

Intel NUC with a 12th gen core processor

LSI 9200-8e PCI card

Drive pool:

QNAP TL-R1200S-RP JBOD rack

Will this work from a compatibility standpoint? Will the drives in the QNAP be recognized by Unraid? My understanding is that the 9200-8e card should be fine, but will there be an issue with the QNAP enclosure?

Cost isn't the issue, I just want to know if I'm in for a world of hurt by using something like a QNAP rack.

I just don't want the hassle of building my own box, and honestly the QNAP box is much more aesthetically pleasing than a silverstone or rosewill chassis. Yes, a niche complaint, but if I'm spending money on something I want it to be nice to look at too. It's going to be in the same rack as a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro.

I'm not planning on doing any homelab stuff, so it might seem overkill, but I'd like to have this last me at least 5-7 years (not counting drive failures), and I'd like to be able to expand and daisy chain another JBOD if need be. I'm just going to be running Plex, all the Arr's, and Home Assistant.
