Shall I switch from the LG 38GN950 to the LG 38WR85QC?
I recently bought the LG 38GN950 and it is a fantastic monitor but I think the areas that I didn’t think about before that kind bothers me is that:
I have a LogiDock and I’d just plug my MacBook Pro into that for power delivery and to use the speakers. However, given that the LogiDock takes an extra socket and space, I was thinking of selling it and getting the 38WR85 which has speakers in built and power delivery via USB-C.
I have a webcam that I wanted to plug into the monitor but it seems that it’d only work with whatever I plugged into the USB B cable meaning that if I plug my webcam into the monitor, I wouldn’t be able to use it with my MacBook.
When I plug in my MacBook, it seems that it’s capped at 75Hz but the 38WR85 can do 144Hz because of the thunderbolt port
I could also get a Thunderbolt to HDMI or something for my PS5 to enjoy 120Hz
What reasons would people say that I should stick to my current monitor apart from missing the 16 extra Hz from overclocking?
My use case is 80% PC (60% productivity and 40% gaming), 10% PS5 (Gaming), 10% MacBook Pro (Productivity).
