Rule Enforcements
Two weeks ago, the Hosting Advisory announced some rule changes. You can read the rule changes here, & all the hosting rules here. These rules are now in effect.
Roster Change
The advisory would like to officially welcome Sperlo to the team! We'd also like to welcome Etticey back on the team. This also marks the end of Qenis' endeavor with us. A full list of our team & current Advisory projects can be found here.
Verification System - Discussion & Proposal
The Advisory has been discussing the verification system for quite a while now & we'd like to make a proposal to the community & see what ideas we can develop together. Under the interest of an efficient discussion, we'd like to avoid loading your comments with any sort of bias. To avoid this we'd like to remind you that we still haven't decided whether or not we're going to implement a verification system, and that's still up for discussion.
Our Verification System Prototype:
- Through a google form, a host will contact us with the intention of being verified. (An idea that was discussed here is that the host would need to have hosted a minimum amount of games. How much should that be?)
- We will then contact the host back, arranging games to be hosted that will be supervised by 2 or more of the Advisors. (Depending on how we structure the criteria for verification, certain permissions will be required for us to fully verify the host.)
- The Advisors will then report back to the team & we'll discuss (using standardized criteria) whether the host has earned verification status.
- If they've earned it, their reddit account will get a 'Verified' flair on /r/UHCMatches along with other small benefits across the /r/ultrahardcore sphere.
Potential Benefits:
- Become a verified submitter on /r/UHCMatches, allowing them to bypass some spam filters.
- Get a flair on /r/UHCHosts
- Get a gold sticker on calendars (if the calendars choose to adapt to the system)
Semantics/Details:
- If you go through a hosting ban or a serious report gets issued under your name, your verification will be taken away & you will have to wait for a cooldown before re-applying. (How much should this cooldown be?)
- Once verified, you may not post games that you're not going to be hosting yourself under your verified reddit account. For example; posting for others, mass posting games for a network, etc.
- This will not give you any advantage over normal hosts such as the ability to overhost others, etc. Verified hosts will be required to still follow all rules.
What do you think of this? Any more benefits you'd like to see, any more details we need to consider? Tell us, we're all ears.
