Just bought this game, really enjoying it but looking for strategy tips and tricks

Like I said, I'm new to this game and I love it so far. It's super engaging and fun but sometimes I struggle to pull out a victory on easy even with more troops than the enemy. If anyone has any beginner tips and tricks it would be greatly appreciated.
