A couple things id really like to see in the game.

Some kind of battle history for ships. Would be cool to see what battles the ship was in and how it did.
Diplomacy with minor nations. Need I say more?
A commander for each fleet ala Total War. Could see his battle logs and possibly unlock some perks based on experience.
More alliance options. Offensive, defensive, trade.
