Further comments about your visa experience:
I was already in the UK on a student visa and the Home Office was still processing visas for applications within the country. My application was delayed by 2 or 3 weeks after the standard service time as well.
I got all my communication via email rather than through the post. A lot of applications are still heavily delayed because of shutdowns and coronavirus. I know a lot of people are still waiting for their decisions. Hang in there! It was so nerve wracking waiting for my decision.
