Biometrics Appointment Issue-Fingerprints not Scanned?
Post Body

Hi all,

I have a very weird and maddening issue that I think most people can't relate to, so I'm reaching out on Reddit for advice.

I'm currently in the UK on a student visa and I literally completed my online application and biometrics today to get my FLRM (spouse) visa. I'm a US citizen and my spouse is a UK citizen.

So, today I went in for my biometrics appointment and for whatever reason, my two pinkies weren't scanning in properly for some reason. The guy helping me was very patient and we tried multiple times to scan it all in perfectly but my left and right pinkies just refused to comply. The system kept saying it wasn't a good scan.

The guy decided to write in a small note explaining that after "multiple attempts" that he decided to simply submit the best possible scan of all my fingerprints and then submitted it.

I asked him if this would mean that I would possibly have to come back in for a new biometrics appointment and he said he didnt know and that it would be up to the Home Office to decide that.

I spent a lot of money on this appointment and I'm so stressed by the entire visa process and I really dont want to come back and redo it. I will if I have to.

I'm wondering if anybody went through something similar, and if so, how did it work out for you?

I would like to note that when I did my biometrics in the US for my student visa, everything went swimmingly well.
