Application for spouse visa

Hi I am on SWV and my partner is on student soon to graduate and will try for PSW graduate visa. The question can we get married in UK and then apply to change my visa from SWV to dependent? Or does this need to be done from home country ie go back to home country to get married and then apply as dependent? Also I assume old rules apply about bringing dependent to this country under student or psw visa?
