I’ve been following the conflict in Ukraine closest since 2014. When Russia finally started the invasion I instantly felt the call to do more. When the first mentions of a Foreign Legion started to circulate I was thrilled, but as a person who has no combat experience and someone who hasn’t been trained by a military in infantry tactics I’ve wondered if I’d actually be a help.
I’m not totally green when it comes firearms as the title states I’ve been working in the firearms industry for years, been through dozens of different training courses for rifles, handguns, close quarters training, as well as medical courses such as stop the bleed and how to seal a sucking chest wounds. But I know this is just some of the fundamentals taught in the Armed Forces. I want to go to help Ukraine and defend democracy but not if I’m going to possibly get others killed by my lack of experience
