Upon observing the developments and various conferences, upon listening to parliament meetings from different countries and analyzing their resolutions, here is the takeaway of it all and what you can and should expect from Europe and NATO.

1) Europe and NATO are providing military assistance and will keep doing so until the end: military assistance not by providing men but weaponry, hardware, intel, training. The only soldiers you will be able to rely on are Ukrainians, but the collective effort behind it all is and will increasingly be European.

2) Aside from providing military assistance, as you know, the instrument of sanctions is being used. That serves not only the purpose of increasing the war cost for Russia, disincentivizing its efforts in the region by hitting its economy and stability, but also as a tool to line out a first and, if not halted by a swift diplomatic solution of the war in Ukraine, a firm and harsh separation from the Russian regime.

3) This separation will be accentuated by diplomatic measures such as today's elimination of the NATO-Russia founding act, its removal from the Council of Europe, its pending removal form its permanent UN seat, the increased operativity of NATO in the eastern regions of Europe.

Furthermore, it must be said that a lack of direct military assistance from NATO must not be interpreted as an abandonment, but as a desire to keep playing by the rules as internationally agreed:

Regardless of the recent Russian breach of the international order, in our modern age which can provide a real existential threat to all mankind in the case of a lawless war, abiding by international laws - even unilaterally - is extremely important.
