My parents immigrated from Soviet Ukraine to the US in the 80s and became US citizens as children, but were forced to revoke their Soviet citizenship upon leaving the Soviet Union.
My maternal grandfather however stayed in Ukraine and is a Ukrainian (post-independence) citizen until the early 2000s when he became a naturalized US citizen (but never renounced his Ukrainian citizenship as far as I know)
Can I claim Ukrainian citizenship given these circumstances where:
- Both parents were stripped of Soviet citizenship before 18 years old
- Parents became US citizens before 18 years old
- Maternal grandfather is still technically a Ukrainian citizen as he never renounced his Ukrainian citizenship
ΠΡΠΊΡΡ!
Edit: sorry meant to clarify that I was born in the US and am a US Citizen. Was just trying wondering if Iβm Ukrainian by technicality.
