My neighbour's godson (who resides in Ukraine with his wife and children) has recently learned he was drafted to participate in the war. He's apparently received his uniform, and the neighbourhood here is getting together some kind of care package to send him. It's probably hard to say what we should put in it since he hasn't been posted to a specific location or unit yet as far as I know (which is weird since he's received a uniform?), but does anyone know what we should/could be sending? I was thinking some merino wool long underwear, socks, and modern goretex tactical boots in his size, but I don't know if we're just duplicating things our boys on the pointy end of the democracy spear already receive. Night vision goggles? Thermal goggles? A drone? I assume a lot of this is already being provided by the Ukrainian army, but would love suggestions...
