In some YouTube comment sections, some people make fun of the fact that his father was a toolmaker. I really think that in the UK being from a working class background is rather a handicap than an asset, it seems. He worked himself up which rather speaks for himself than against him.
In the US that would make him even more likeable. Do you think that represents the class structure in the UK very well?
It seems some people are poking fun at PM Starmer for frequently mentioning his father's background as a toolmaker, but it's not clear if they're mocking his working-class roots directly. In the US, such a background might be seen more positively.
