When to start the PGDL?
Post Body

Hi all,

I'm a non-law graduate with a couple years of work experience, and I was thinking of starting a PGDL in January 2023 (I have offers already) and then apply for TCs whilst studying.

However, my dilemma is that most TCs I have seen start in either late 2024 or 2025.. the PGDL only lasts like 10 months. My understanding is that, under the new route, it would then take me another (maybe) half a year, to complete the SQE? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd guess that means I could be done with the conversion studies by early/mid 2024 - thus having a substantial gap before my TC (potentially) started.

Should I just start applying for TCs now, and defer my PGDL entry date to September 2023, instead of January? What would make more sense in your opinion?
