Am I quite late (relative to the average) to convert to Law?
Post Body

I understand this has probably been asked multiple times.. and the answer is that it's subjective, and that it's never really "too late".

But what I was wondering was, whether one may be considered to be quite or very late with respect to their average peer group of intake. I will turn 26 in a month, and I have been working for a couple years after finishing my Master's (I have a non-law degree and I also started uni a little later because of the German school system).

If I enroll in a PGDL in January, or May or even September 2023, any training contract I get accepted for would not start before 2025. I reckon that means I would be 29 by the time I start actually getting my hands on law work as a first year trainee..? Law is a big passion of mine, but this seems like a big dive. The idea of qualifying at 30/31 whilst having 24 year olds do the same at the same time is a bit odd for me.

What do you think - are there other people in a similar position as mine who have gone to become a successful solicitor, or am I indeed quite late for this?
