I've recently started to get back into climbing (seeing as I seem to now live in a place surrounded by good things to climb!). Just been on a few days learning to sport lead so I can go do some bits and pieces but I'm now trying to find a decent guidebook. I'd rather have something printed than digital.
So far I've been considering: Eden Valley & South Lakes Limestone - Fell & Rock Club Lakes Sport and Slate – Wired Guide with FRCC (misses some of the more norther areas covered in the book above) Northern Rock Climbing Guide (currently out of stock with BMC but looks good)
Has anyone had any experience with these books? Or any other recommendations?
Also I know the vast majority of routes around me are trad routes, that's my plan for next summer when a few mates are over my way :D
Edit: In case anyone ever finds this post with the same question. I bought Eden Valley and South Lakes Limestone. It's a good guidebook despite printing in 2011. It has a note where trad routes have anchors in place to allow for top roping which is helpful. But I have to hunt through site by site. Used in conjunction with ukclimbing.com it's working well. It will come in handy when I move to trad as well :) However someone with more experience than me did suggest Sport and Slate as it's much more specific to what I wanted.
