As I've sat this evening smoking my personal favourite cigar, I was wondering what everyone else has as a favourite.

For me it's the Partagas Lusitania, first recommended to me in 2005 by Greens of Leeds, and since then I've smoked more than I can remember. In those days they sold a box of three for £50, as we all know those days are very much long gone.

Both times I've been to Cuba I've bought cabinets of 50, and a more beautiful sight I can't imagine.

Before 2020 I would get through a box a year. Picking up singles now and again.

For me they come best in boxes of 10 and the cabinets of 50. They don't have the box press that the 25 boxes do. That being said I wouldn't say no.

The last time I bought more than a couple was February of 2020, managed to get a cabinet just before lockdown. Paid around £600, then Parcelforce charged me for the declared value and the £12 fee they have, which was larger, never been happier to pay a charge.

For me they are the perfect cigar, not a crazy ring gauge at 49, and you know you are in for a couple of hours of great smoke. It's a commitment, something that is needed from time to time, the time to sit back and relax, and enjoy life.

My 2018 cabinet is coming to an end, only a handful left, my 2019 is sat there with a couple smoked from it.

These days I don't smoke them as often, the cost and availability is the problem.

So what are your favourite cigars?

Personally I prefer Cuban, but during lockdown and since I like many people am smoking more new worlds. Prefer Nicuraguan but am open to trying new things.

Maybe I can find something new to smoke.
