Handlebar upgrade on new bike - worth it?
Post Body

A few weeks ago I finally received my rather high end Orbea Orca M21ETeam. It's a lovely bike, but it's also my summer bike, so as you may have guessed I haven't ridden it yet. The job they did on the handlebar tape isn't how I like it though, so I'm going to replace it with the bar tape I like (Fizik Vento) and give it some nice Hope bar end plugs too.

I've also noticed that the handlebars don't have internal routing for the hydraulic brake hoses. So I looked up what the best carbon bars you could get were (the Orca came with carbon bars, Orbea "OC2"). CyclingNews thinks the 3T SuperErgo Stealth bars are the best, and they have internal routing. RRP is £230. Ouch. Merlin has them for...£90! Wowsers! So the question is...worth the upgrade?

As an OEM part it's not like anyone has reviewed the OC2 bars, but this is supposed to be my best ever bike and I've got the money. Worth it?
