Hi all,
Took part in the Tour Ride Stoke yesterday as part of Team Costa (Costa Express sponsor the Tour of Britain). I don't work for them but know somebody who does.
It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I don't recall ever being close to throwing up during exercise before. Twice. Miles 15-25 were a constant uphill slog across the top of the moors with a vicious crosswind. There was a stop for food just before Gun Hill, which reaches gradients of 25% at times.
Really well organised ride with some good freebies at the end, including tomato soup and chesse sandwich! Feeling OK today although a little sore on the back.
Would definitely recommend this one for next year.
