Letting recyclables pile up :(

Post Body

I am doing well with keeping my belongings to a minimum. My home is around 150 square feet, so it’s very noticeable when it’s messy and too many things everywhere.

I have been in this habit for a long time where I let recyclables accumulate usually in the kitchen. Things like aluminum cans, takeout containers, bottles from personal care product. I’m talking months worth. It’s not crowding my floor or anything. But takes up most of my counters in the kitchen.

I don’t know why I am so bad with this. I know I can rinse them the same day I’ve used them and get them to the recycling bin daily or every few days.

I wish I was more comfortable to post pictures. But my kitchen has these items crowding the counters. I have 2 other containers that I have items in (small buckets). My bathroom sometimes has extra shampoo bottles and things like that, but I’ve become way better with this part of my home.

My bedroom usually has some aluminum cans or plastic cups. Most of these items need to be rinsed and wiped off.

I have been having some days where I feel so much motivation to clean/rinse everything. Maybe about 4 days now it’s happened randomly. I just get a fed up feeling.

However I need to make this more of a habit versus random times that I do tons of it. I noticed once I got a pair of gloves and a brush to clean with, I’ve been more likely to work on this and also do my regular dishes.

Any advice on getting consistent with motivation? Or how to make this thing more tolerable?
