I am currently a freshman living in a quad traditional dorm in efforts to save money. I like being right next to everything, not to mention I work right across the street from where I dorm. I also have to be at work by 5:30am sometimes, and it's great being a 2 minute walk from work. I also like how safe I feel on campus compared to the other areas of Gainesville. And that the dorms are rumored to almost never lose power due to things like hurricanes. I don't mind living in a quad, somehow I got really lucky with all of my roommates.
The only way I would consider living off campus is if I can find a place that beats $5200 a year(the total cost of my dorm for Fall/Spring). So, is it worth even looking off campus?
