If you speak to fighters, there is something that happens when a tough fight is over. It's a shared experience and the only person that can truly appreciate that other than you is the guy you fought, so USUALLY, that creates a friendly bond. In some cases that doesn't happen obviously but this bond experience is the norm. A good battle needs two people.
