Some physics professors, particularly for upper div classes here have the “Sheldon Cooper” effect
Post Body

They often are just out of touch with students and assume everyone understands what is on the board because none of the students speak up. This is a problem I’ve encountered with multiple professors who also tend to be really competent but just bad at teaching. Sometimes it’s just easier to read the book, go to other TA’s office hours, and screw going to class.

I feel for them and don’t want to be too harsh on them because they are researchers and are also generally nice people who want to help, but some of these professors just aren’t up to snuff on their teaching abilities.

With that being said, is anyone in physics 115 B here who wants to study together or go over the homework? If so, or even if you are in 115A and maybe want to chat or something, lmk. Okay that’s all.
