So I got fucked over by Ostrovsky because while I was number 1 on the waitlist and about to get into the course, he gave a bunch of PTEs for people “graduating” thus lowering my effective position to 14. I tried to obtain a PTE the lecture after but he sent everyone home who wasn’t graduating after this quarter.

I’ve heard it’s ideal to apply for FAANG internships and such in August if I want the best odds of securing one for the summer of next year, but then I would be interviewing without the knowledge of CS 180. I would have an internship under my belt by the time I apply as I have one secured for this summer, but I don’t think that would transfer well to my success in the interviews.

What would be the best course of action given that I cannot take 180 before fall since the summer session is also filled up? Self study the textbook along with leetcode and apply in August? Apply in September/October so that I am taking 180 concurrently as I interview? Thank you in advance for any advice.
