Other people have pointed this out, but the Pointe at Central has said nothing about the arson that took place a couple days ago. Some people have voiced concerns about this happening again because the perpetrator is still unknown.
I'm a resident of the Pointe and I find it unacceptable that management hasn't communicated with residents at all. Not only that, they send out some bullshit email to us to attend some community event at the clubhouse.
Nothing about actually installing cameras. Nothing about otherwise improving security in tangible ways that will prevent things like this from happening in the future. Nothing about expressing condolences for those who will have to find thousands of dollars to replace their vehicles. Nothing about extending a modicum of support for the victims either.
I'm graduating this semester so I'll be moving out in a couple months, but even if I wasn't, I would absolutely be looking at living elsewhere. Property managers/landlords everywhere are this heartless and cold, but at least most of them are competent enough in a business-sense to actually communicate w/ residents when a frightening crime occurs in the middle of the night on the property that they manage & own.
For context, I'm an advertising & PR student so I think about these things differently from most people. But I think all residents of an apartment complex would like to be communicated with about these things. What are your thoughts? Do you feel similarly or differently?
