TLDR; What does it take for you to threaten to cancel a ride?
This week, I picked up a 25 year old coming out of a bar. He was being followed to my car and took a defensive posture toward his aggressor instead of getting in. I instructed him to get in or stay out, as the aggressor was coming toward him and too close to my car for comfort. For the record, I am a female driver, and (like you) have no desire to get involved in drunken brawls or shootings. Most of my rides are completely without incident.
Anyway, once the rider got in with his friends, they started speaking in the most sexually graphic ways I have ever heard in my 50 years of life - they had asked me for tips on picking up women at bars (being twice their age, I didn’t have much to offer!) and their conversation deteriorated after that. That was strike two for me.
Ultimately, about four minutes from our destination, I told the guys they would have to change the subject, or I could just drop them off early. I understand most people think I’m spineless, but my question for you is this:
What does it take for you to threaten to cancel a ride?
