So I’ve had this happen before and I called Uber Support to verify and it was a scam. Long story short I got a ride notification and accepted it and before I could get going good the phone rang from the pax. I answered it and they proceeded to tell me they was with Uber support and that I needed to cancel the ride. Well since I’ve heard this story before I knew what it was. They tell you Uber wants to give you a 100$ bonus and they try to trick you into putting their debit card number in your payout section and take your weeks earnings. I called him out fairly quickly and told them if they was Uber Support they could cancel the ride that I was not going to cancel it. There was a few other words exchanged as things heated up and the person on the other end of the line hung up on me. Now I realize I’m probably a little petty but I didn’t have much going on since I’m my area I only get 6-10 request a day over 8-10 hours (I do this and then go back to my business when not driving) so I decided I was going to force them to pay for no show. I drove to the location and let the clock start. No show canceled the ride and made 6$ just to make them pay something for the attempted scam. Should I have done something differently? Fairly new at driving and only do it part time.
