Hey all, I've got a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to elsewhere.
I unexpectedly had to update my phone number in the Uber app when trying to request a ride yesterday. Went and tried to update it (even though I've had the same phone number for years) in the app, was able to get all the way through to getting a code sent to my phone, put it in, and was given an error message. Tried a few times, kept giving me the same message. I put it out of my mind and used Lyft for the trips I needed.
I tried again this morning to "update" the number and got the same error message I was getting yesterday. I tried to search online for some kind of help, I sent in a message to Uber a little after Noon this afternoon, but I've yet to hear anything back yet. From what it seems, if you have more than one uber account connected to the same phone number, that could potentially mess with it, so I went and deleted any other Uber accounts I had, but I am still having the same issue. I haven't had this issue before, and it just became an issue yesterday, after being an Uber rider and having the same account for years.
I have scheduled an Uber to take me to the airport early tomorrow morning, I had scheduled it last month before this was an issue. Will not having a verified or updated phone number affect that ride? Obviously, if either the driver or myself want to message the other, we have to do it through the app and can't message over text messages or make calls, I haven't had an issue with the chat feature in the app before, so that won't be an issue for me. I just want to be safe, and know ahead of time whether I will need to or should switch over to another ridesharing app for the trip tomorrow.
Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks!
