Did I do something wrong to be kicked out?
Post Body

Literally... just happened. I AM going to be COMPLETELY honest about the situation that happened, so I promise I am not exaggerating nor trying to make the driver look back!

I work at a sports bar where we have a winning team, so usually after every win, it gets really rowdy and crazy around where I work. My manager is very strict on us ladies leaving to our cars/users by ourselves. I did end up leaving late so it was only me, two managers, and a couple of the bussers left. I'm not sure if this is common, but with Uber, sometimes the pinpoint is wrong and it can show them on a different side of street. I called an Uber with it being 1am and alone, and the pinpoint was wrong again.

I texted the driver if he could tell me where exactly he was going to be, because it gets rowdy. He texted back "look at the pinpoint," and I had responded "I know, but uber has been glitching lately, which is why I wanted to know where you are or what you're by." He leaves me on read, so I call him. As I'm calling him, my manager is on the balcony of our job, yelling at me to go to my Uber as there's no security left. He finally answers, and instead of telling me where he was, he responds on the phone "I'm going to hang up and text you where I am at." Weird... I just said ok, and hung up the phone. He texts me where he was, and all I say back is that I'm walking to him immediately. I rush in the car, because everybody knows that the part of town I work in can be very dangerous.

He immediately turns off his car, turns around at me and asks me if I'm angry with him or something.

I responded that I'm not angry, my manager does not like us wandering around at night, and was making me upset with trying to locate you. He continued to say that I was being rude, and that he can tell I'm being angry with him.

I responded again, saying that I never said I was angry with him, and that it's a dangerous part of town. For the most part, I'm not comfortable wandering around. Which is why I asked you where exactly you were, because it glitches.

He ignored the last part of what I said, and continued to aggressively explain how pinpoints work, and that I probably put in the wrong address. What he doesn't get is, his pinpoint was wrong?

I did in fact, say dramatically "WHAT!? Uber is so glitchy! I don't understand this" and I guess, he proceeded to say that I'm clearly unhappy with his service and cancels the Uber on me. My face absolutely dropped, because I knew my manager already left to his car, because he was only waiting on me to leave. I was obviously upset at the fact that he didn't have any concern about my safety, so I did mention that I took a screenshot of his car as the conversation was happening, because I felt he'd pull something like this with how he was speaking. He responded back that he has a dashcam and can show Uber that I was aggressive.

Maybe I'm not seeing the brighter picture, but I just got out the car (and this is where I may be wrong) won't say the actual phrase, but it rhymes with bumb ducking witch, and I slammed the door. Was I wrong? Up until the last part lol

Any attitude from a rider is an insta-cancel from me. It's just too risky to have my account deactivated.

Unfortunately I learned this while driving during covid. During that year or so, riders were constantly pissed off about having to wear a mask and not being able to use the front seat. Uber XLs were reduced to five people and Xs to three people.

Riders lost their minds and I never had as much difficulty with riders as it was during that time. False reports were abound that year. I had a 4.97 rating that dropped to 4.74 and got me suspended from the app for a while.

It's just not worth it anymore. You trying to squeeze seven people in an Uber XL? Cancel. You mad because you have to get rid of your open beer? Cancel. You upset because the pin isn't where it's supposed to be? Cancel.

Isn't that the truth. Sorry for your loss.

Almost every ride was a fight. They knew they were going to need the mask to go wherever they were going. Going to a restaurant? You're going to need a mask. Going to the store? You're going to need a mask. I hated that time.
