I have been in the legal field 5 years now. A lot of it was case management related. and for a while, I was happy with this. I remember first time I worked as a legal secretary, I would leave the office with the worst headaches. But there was still a sense of accomplishment. I was learning and I enjoyed it.

But now, I am getting a little over it. I am grateful I reached being a paralegal. But I am just over the stress. I am over the high turnovers of getting used to one attorney's style and having to relearn with a new attorney. For me, this process takes months to finally get the swing of things, and then they quit. And honestly, the last few months have been missed deadline after missed deadline. And I am starting to think it does have to do with me being burnt out.

It sucks, because of course I love the job security. But I am not really loving the job like I used to. I am stressed. I get anxious. And on top of that, I get annoyed. I get annoyed with the correspondence emails. I get annoyed with the clients and the attorneys.

Thinking on this, I decided the minute I get my vehicle paid off, I am going to change careers. I don't know to what. But the reason I have to make a certain amount anyways is because of the car. And honestly, I am not seeing any benefits from staying at this law firm for more than that. I do like it here, but the stress, some cliques, and the clients is beginning to be too much to me.
