So - you want to send me a message in response to one of my r4r posts. Great! Here are some tips to help you to be successful in this endeavor.
Pre-Work
- Review the details of the post that you are responding to. Observe any dealbreakers or incompatibilies.
Message Content
- Tell me about you - while this can include physical attributes, I really don't find that stuff very interesting right off the bat - I'd much prefer to learn about your soul.
- Basic details about your age, location, parental status and relationship goals are always appreciated
- Please let me know why you are reaching out - what stood out to you about what I wrote, why you think we might be a fit.
Pro Tips
- One word or one sentence messages rarely give me enough information to be able to figure out if you're worth engaging with
- Be sure you're not doing the exact opposite of what I am requesting (Example: In my post I state something like "I prefer to chat with people for a bit before meeting up" and your response just says "Want to get a drink tonight?")
- Sexual or explicit talk right off the bat is not appreciated
- Awareness of mental and emotional labor is something that is very important to me.
