Today was a very interesting day with my narcissist and I wish I would have caught this argument on tape, but as per usual, I failed to record, so please allow me to journal this conversation.

I was sitting downstairs, in what some would call a living room, in my dump of a house, and my wife came down from doing whatever she was doing with a wallpaper scraper and said this, "Can you do two favors for me?"

"Yes. What are they?" - Me

She must not have heard me, because I had to repeat myself. Anyways.

"Can you flip the fan blades over? I want the brown faced down and the gray up. Can you also fold the legs in on the wallpaper table?" - Wife

"Yes, but I don't think those fan blades flip over. I think they only go on one way." - Me

"No they don't, just flip them over so the brown side is down." - Wife

It was then that I went upstairs to see if I was right or not. I was kinda right, but not that it mattered. They could be flipped over, so I was writing there, but they were gray on both sides. While I was upstairs, I also folded the table legs down. Anyways, I came back down and sat back in the living room.

"Those fan blades are gray on both sides and I folded the table legs down." - Me

"They are not, they are brown on one side and gray on the other." - Wife

"Did you look at them?" - Me

"Yes, they are gray on one side and brown on the other. (Pause) What you're doing to me is called gaslighting. Stop gaslighting me." - Wife

"I am not gaslighting you." - Me

"Yes you are, just like always. Just flip the fan blades over." - Wife

It was then, that I got a screw driver, went upstairs, and pulled a fan blade off. Granted, I did doubt myself that I was wrong and wanted to double check I wasn't seeing things. I pulled the fan blade off, twisted it back and forth, side to side, and low and behold, the fan blade was the same on both sides. I took the fan blade downstairs. She was sat at a folding table, in what might be considered the dining room, when I got back down. As I walked by, I laid the fan blade on the table. There was a long pause.

"Child." - Wife

"What?" - Me

"That was very childish of you. You could have just told me they were gray on both sides." - Wife

"I did. You said I was gaslighting you. I said I wasn't. I showed you I wasn't." - Me

"I never said you were gaslighting me." - Wife

"Yes you did." - Me

"No I didn't." - Wife

"Yes you did. I'm done with this conversation." - Me

"I meant about how you lied to me about how they couldn't be flipped over. They can be." - Wife

"Okay." - Me

"What you did was very childish. You could have just told me." - Wife

We haven't spoken since....
