Curiosity got the better of me last night as my wife's phone sat there, unused, as she was asleep. I am so pissed at my self for picking that thing up. Now you might be thinking I found out she's been texting other guys, cheating, or something. Nope, I honestly wouldn't care if she was, I'd think good on her. In this case, I found that she has been still giving a sizeable amount of our income to her daughter.
I will be honest, when I started at Owens Corning, I decided to continue to use a separate bank account to receive money in like I was at DRAX, for issues I've discussed previously. Well, not a justification, but the reason was I was tired of always having to beg for purchases or get questioned as to why I spent this or that. In this amount, I pulled numbers that equated to 10% - 20% of my earnings through there only, depending on bonus. This is in my belief a fair amount to save for one's self, although she was less and pleased with the fact it happened, saying it was our money. I laugh, because she used it's our money whenever it's my earnings, but if it's evern her earrings, it's her money. I digress.
Now, fast forward to last night. I opened up the phone and scrolled to the banking app that only she has access to. I honestly thought it was weird that she stopped giving money to her daughter through our own bank. Well, turns out I was mistaken, she has been using that app to cover her tracks. She has literally been giving 40 - 50% of her earnings to her daughter. Keep in mind, her daughter is supposed to be paying us back for a loan we paid off last year at £100 a month and I have yet to see any movement there.
I think the most astonishing fact of this situation was and the reason I got curious in the first place was, I had kept seeing all of these transfers from bank to bank to bank. If you go by transfers alone, it looks like I made $200,000 from the start of this year. I don't make anywhere close to that, it just looks that way through my budgeting app. Again, I digress. Well, I have found where most of it is sitting. It's sitting in that fucking bank.
I distinctly remember her telling me, when I kept bringing up budgeting over the years, that she didn't want to do that because she felt she was being tracked. Well, after years of living paycheck to paycheck, on a decent wage, I told her I am going to start tracking the finances better last year. Well, I now know what is happening and my mind is blown.
I am so angry right now and I don't even know how to move forward.
