Hey Reddit! Here's my sitch. I'm a 25 year old male making a career change to nursing. I'm graduating from nursing school in a few weeks, and I'd like to take 4-6 months to travel and experience new things before starting a full-time job as an RN. This was an intimidating decision to make, but I firmly believe that this could be the most fun and enriching life experience I've ever allowed myself to have.
Unfortunately, I don't know anybody else in a similar position and mindset to join me. That leads to my next question: Where do I start? How do I get comfortable with the idea of traveling alone? I've handled traveling alone for work and school, but traveling for fun is foreign to me (no pun intended).
How do I go about selecting a destination? I think I'd like to start small - maybe visit some major cities on the east coast and make my way to the west? I've always wanted to see San Diego and Hawai'i. When I'm more comfortable with that, I'd like to go international too. I have a list of ~36 countries and 16 states so far. I've used Google Maps to drop pins on cool stuff in each place, but they're just concepts at the moment. No itineraries.
Any help is appreciated!! Thank you guys, and safe travels! <3
