Hello, cloud here — sorry to disappoint, but this isn’t an audio script fill. I hope you’ll indulge me anyway. Today’s just an update of sorts, and there’s an announcement at the end — but don’t be naughty and skip! LOL

As we audio-loving consumers know, script performers are more than just a voice relaying fantasies. I’d like to invite you behind the wizard’s curtain now that I’ve given you a sample of the things I read and narrate. XD

Currently, I record from my bedroom in a shared space, LOL — which is partially why I try to keep the SFX “within reasonable/plausible” so I don’t receive a disturbing noise complaint or God forbid interruptions. 🤣 I use VoiceMemos on iPhone, a ShiftCam magSafe tripod, and a wireless charger — these are typically for photography, but it works splendidly for recording, as I pleasantly found! I also just received a K66 ZealSound plug-in microphone! It’s “pro”-level, but not so obnoxiously tricked out that I feel like an imposter (more than normal, anyway, LOL). All sound effects (at least until this post’s publishing) are self-created. I do my best to insert a level of realism so you hear more than my dulcet tones. That said, it’s usually confined to things I can manoeuvre inside. Music ambience, echoes, and other special noises are left to collaborators. (I may consider it though in the future.)

One thing that might surprise you (or perhaps not XD): I rarely utter sexually explicit, naughty, or crass words — except a semi-liberal f-bomb — outside the confines of recording. Just ask the person I once attempted subbing for. They were always exasperated that my begging oft dodged it, LOL! I mentioned before that I’m shy. (I even blush madly musing about cute, chaste kisses between lovebirds). But, narrating is freeing. It’s acting. Bravado. It’s shedding me and becoming a character. Embodying their will and attitude. I have a job to do. Thus, I find it surprisingly easy to deliver lines that I’d normally balk at.

My second fun fact is that I have a Writing Arts degree — I’ve spent all my life surrounded by words. Be that in an ebook, on Google Docs, or (now) on Reddit. It is my most treasured hobby, and the love of my life. (Kinda joking (but am I?))
