This is truly over. I am happy to be free. While I appreciate what we had, this all took more than it gave — with the exception of one real ongoing relationship, about $5k, my fluffed ego, and the reason my ex ghosted me.

There was no specific point when things dramatically changed, no one event that cut it off. Things just came to a natural end. Relationships faded. Subreddits got boring. I found more queer community. I started to look different, in a way that was not appealing to men, or at least not the men I once knew. I moved out of the apartment that held those memories.

I would say that I’ll miss you, but truthfully, I won’t. You will be remembered in salacious stories at parties, videos I send to new partners, maybe an introspective essay, the occasional aside in therapy. 2019 was mostly the year I became close with my best friend and got together with my partner and went to the beach a lot, although it was incidentally the year I sucked a lot of dick. That was a funny thing for me to do.
