Hey! Im connor im 18 and this is my political journey. And its a doozie. Where to begin? Well up until i was 12 or 13 i didnt have a stance i didnt really care about politics. I simply didnt lie anywhere on the political spectrum. Around 12 years of age i became uber left leaning. Im talking hating anyone that was white straight or male. I was almost radical. I argued online with conservatives for hours not really caring about facts or anything leaning more towards feelings are important and an argument without considering someones feelings was evil. This carried on until i was about 15 when i saw all that was wrong with feminism and black lives matter and from that point i stopped having an opinion on political matters. When i was 16 i basically switched and became super conservative. I had always liked guns and was for the second amendment all my life and that didnt change. And since people on the right were for guns i sided with them. I went on rebel media and fox news and took no media other than those as fact. I then believed all that matters was facts and facts dont care about your feelings. I was kinda hateful towards trans people and intentionally misgendered them. This kept up until about 7 months ago when i realized that facts while important shouldnt be gratuitously spouted in place of feelings. I became more centrist in my ideology and took in other media but looking at the information objectively. I consider my self a liberation as thats most comfortable for me. I can have my own ideas without having to look to my peers. I still am liberation. It lets me decide what the facts are while i can take into account peoples feelings aswell. You see i believe nothing should be completely a partisan issue. I use trans peoples proper pronouns within reason and respect peoples feelings with what i say. All in all ive seen both sides and both have their flaws. I do have to say people on the left are more hostile to their own peers and it felt like i was walking on broken glass with everything i said. On the right i saw people be intentionally mean and instigating under the guise of "facts" im more skeptical of arguments and would like evidence and proof before i agree or argue an issue.
Tl;dr ive seen most if not all of the political spectrum and neither are perfect.
