I have noticed that 9 out of 10 people who message me on my personals have brand new profiles. I find this to be a red flag, and I make it clear in my personals that I am not interested in talking to fake accounts or people who have messaged me before and think that creating a new profile will make a difference.
Additionally, I have certain criteria for the type of messages I will respond to. If someone simply says "hi," "hey," "sup," without putting any effort into their message, I will not respond. This is especially true if they have nothing on their profile for me to reference.
I also have certain things that I've mentioned in my personals that I don't like, including picture sharing and asking me to ask you questions. If someone asks me about those things despite my clear statements, it's a major turnoff for me.
Location and age range are also important factors for me. I currently live in Scotland, but I am looking to move to the east coast of the United States. If someone is from the west coast of the US, any other part of the UK, or anywhere else other than the two places I've mentioned, I'm not interested. Similarly, if someone is outside of the age range that I've specified in my personals, I won't respond to your message.
