All the Monster I've Written So Far Part 2
Post Body

So uh..... I surpassed the character limit for a post apparently. I was wondering when this would happen and today was the day. Well, this might happen again sometime in the future, but for now enjoy this second post as ramble on briefly. My monsters will keep coming and being created.

On another note though, I took a little break for a mixture reasons. I lost interest/forgot/ wanted to write something else/couldn't find something good to turn into a prompt. I at least want to hit the 100 monster mark though. 100's a lot, but that's not gonna stop me. I might edit these in the posts sometime in the future and maybe de-canonize a few (monsters 18 and 27 specifically), but for now they stay. It's just me taking out the writing I don't like and saying it just never happened.

Again, thanks for reading this. I means a lot that someone cares to read these stories.

29. [DEBATABLE CANONICITY] The Parents

  • I'm a little unsatisfied with this entry, so I'm putting it in a gray area of debatable canonicity.

My parents weren’t normal. Besides some foggy memories that my mind blocked out, all I can remember is the events of what happened three days after my 10th birthday. I woke up and my parents were sitting in the living room by the fireplace, unmoving. Dad hadn’t been going to work like he always did (he never missed a single day). All they did was sit down and stare blankly at the warmth the flames had given off. No one matter what I tried, they’d ignore me except for when the fire began to burn out. They’d yell at me (though with a great struggle) to keep it going.

The house was messier than normal and the kitchen was in complete disarray. The Christmas tree remained undecorated and the needles just laid on the floor. I was going to vacuum them up but the closet we kept it in was locked. I’m still confused as to why they did this. The TV’s cords had been chewed through and I thought our dog did this but then I realized that I hadn’t seen my dog since my birthday.

I was forced to make my meals on own and I ate at the dinner table. There’s a limit to what a 10-year-old can cook, so most of my meals consisted of popcorn and peanut butter and jelly. I asked mom and dad to eat with me several times but they always said “no” with spit flying out of their mouths.

It was late in the evening and I finally grew tired of hearing them yell every few hours (even when I was sleeping) to fuel the fireplace and decided they can do it themselves. As I laid in my bed, their yelling became louder and louder, and their speech became more inconsistent. It sounded like their throats were going beyond what they should be doing without feeling pain. I covered my head with my pillow as heard the screeches of now unintelligible speech coming from them. Why were they so obsessed with a dumb fire? Can’t they fuel it themselves? Eventually, the screeching stopped. Gone without a trace. My dumb kid mind thought they caved in and did themselves and I attempt to get some rest.

I couldn’t sleep though. The screaming bothered me. I became more and more worried about my parents. Did something happen? My thoughts rushed through my head as I stepped out of bed and felt the coldness in the dark. The fire had gone out. Why would they bother making such a fuss over a fire? They didn’t move from their chairs these three days. They didn’t eat, they didn’t sleep, they didn’t talk... they didn’t do anything!

I swinger open the door slowly. The floorboards creaked as I walked and none of the lights in the house were on. It was dead silent. I walked down the hall passed the locked closet and peered into the living room. Mom and dad weren’t on their chairs anymore. I called out their names and there was no response. I began to walk into the living room until I felt a cold breathe on my neck. I turned my head and mom, with a row of fangs and pointy pointy ears, stared back at me.

30. [NON-CANON] The Worm

  • The reason for this being non-canon is that I don't like how large of a scale it is. If it was this large surely the media would be reporting it, right?

WARNING! IF YOU SEE THIS ENTITY, DO NOT APPROACH UNTIL IT IS CONTAINED OR TERMINATED!

Initial Sighting: October 9, 2020

Danger Level 6

The entity was spotted at nearby highway close to Ironville, New York. The entity appears to be some giant worm with what is presumed to be its mouth. Gravity appears to fail within a 30 meter radius of its location. It lifts all nearby individuals into its mouth.

The foundation’s private military has been fighting the entity for several months, but to no avail. Many soldiers have died in the line of duty and those who have survived have been subjected to therapy due to the psychological terror they experienced.

31. Parasite

The feeling of becoming something new is a horrifying one. Those who suffer are lucky that it only lasts were a short while as the parasite morphs their body into their own. The feeling of your skin tearing and your teeth slowly but steadily cracking is painful. We still debate if they are still human, but one researcher looked at it from a distance and said, "It is a new and yet beautiful being." The researcher than went under the transformation process and was quickly terminated.

32. A Friend is Here

Mr. Maxwell felt an unusual presence from an unknown entity. He knew it wasn't human and he knew it was definitely not a friend. All we know about this series of incidents are an article in the local newspaper, a diary he kept just like his ancestor Jedidiah did, and interviews from his family.

The following is an extract from his diary, which remains in the custody of the Ironville Historical Center.

"December 13, 1935.

There were two knock at the window last night. A voice said, "A friend is here! Let him in!" I found this to be strange as it didn't sound like any of my friends or family. In fact, it didn't sound like anyone I knew at all. I guess it could've been a new person in our small but growing town. Waking up, I was about to come to the window at the back of the house until I remembered that I was on the second floor. I tried telling my wife Maude in the morning, but she said I was just having a dream.

December 14, 1935.

The person came again to my window. I pinched myself to see if I was awake. I was. The voice was the same and repeated the thing it said last night after knocking twice, louder. I shivered under my blanket and tried ignoring, but I felt a pair of eyes digging daggers into my soul. I didn't get any sleep that night.

December 15, 1935.

I slept with Maude last night in her room. The knocks came and Maude heard it too. They were even louder. I thought the glass would break but it didn't. "A friend is here! Let him in!" Maude and I aren't going to stay in this house tonight. We're gonna go to my parents' farm after we file a report to the police. Maybe I can finally sleep there.

December 16, 1935.

I slept in the guest room with Maude. We were greeted once again by the knocking. Maude started going crazy, saying it might be over if we let him in. I assured her that if something stalked me for this long, it wasn't a friend."

The diary ends here, but the police file, mixed with accounts from his wife, family, and a newspaper story give us the missing details of what happened. Maude and Mr. Maxwell decided to sleep in different houses. Maude reported not hearing the dreadful knocking, but his parents stated that they heard a scream coming from their son's room. Wendell Maxwell (Mr. Maxwell's father) said that when he entered the room, he son had vanished and the window was wide open.
