How to arrange a Safe Meeting.

Reddit hookups can be incredibly fun, but they can also be scary, anxiety-inducing, and nerve-wracking. The goal is to have mutual fun, explore in a safe environment, and maybe learn a thing about each other and ourselves.

One of the most important things to do prior to a meet, is to put some safety measures in place. Generally, I like to follow these simple guidelines. Strips away the worries and focussed us on the fun.

1) Swap phone numbers and message on WhatsApp. Reddit has an element of anonymity. This can be great, but we are two(or more) humans that are hoping to meet up, let’s get personal. Please feel free to pass my number along to a trusted friend so they know who you are with.

2) if things are getting more serious after a bit of getting to know each other, a video chat is in order. I do this so there are not catfish or surprises. You know exactly who you’ll be meeting. Let’s tame the nerves, and get past the awkward stage. Break the ice. :)

3) On the day, we’ll arrange to meet somewhere public. A drink, coffee, park walk… make sure we are both comfortable before we jump into the bedroom.
