So I have question that I probably should’ve asked when I started investing. I’m trying to understand the percentages more clearly. (In layman’s terms)
Let’s say there a two stocks. Stock A and Stock B. Stock A is priced at $300 and Stock B is priced at $3. Lets say I put $500 in both stocks. Let’s say both stocks rise 1,000%, my question is , do I gain the same amount in dollars from both stocks on the just the money I put in? (As in just the base $500 without the stock price added in)
(See my formula below)
($Stock A($300) $5001,000%=$5,000?( $500))
($Stock B($3) $5001,000%=$5,000?( $3))
Is this how it works? Or do I have it completely wrong, because IF I am correct, then I definitely get how people get rich off of stocks now😕🤯
