If adderall has completely stopped working, will modafinil work?

Adderall worked great for me for a few months, then completely stopped working no matter how high the dose. I even took a 6 month break and tried it again and it still does nothing. I am really sleepy throughout the day because I have sleep apnea. Coffee doesn't help. I am not looking for euphoria or anything. So if adderall does not wake me up anymore, will I feel modafinil?
