Facing Relationship Insecurity. Insecurity is tied to some really challenging emotions: jealousy, doubt, anxiety, powerlessness, lack, and shame. If you are new to non-monogamy, you might be coming up against some of these feelings and wondering if you will be able to feel safe and secure without the promise of exclusivity.
The mistake here is thinking that your insecurity has to do with being poly or being capable of having a healthy polyamorous relationship. Experienced poly and monogamous people can go through the same nerve-wrecking process of doubt, worry and jealousy.
Letβs discuss how facing our insecurities in relationships can empower us to create healthy connections and our own internal equanimity.
