NEVER take a dickpic seated on a toilet. It invites thoughts of pooping. It just looks bad and is a turn off to the vast VAST majority of people. I've never once seen a dickpic seated on the toilet do well - not once - that fact speaks for itself. Unfortunately it's one of the most used places to take a dickpic which is just a waste of something that could have been good.

Try to avoid taking pics with a toilet visible at all.

If using a mirror make sure to CLEAN IT WELL beforehand. The extra clarity and the fact that you can now simply be seen and therefore enjoyed better goes a LONG way and just demonstrates that you give a damn about how you look, and come across, which is itself attractive.

If you need to block your face use a black box or blur effect, not emojis. Emojis make people think of comical things they look funny and silly that's their function. They are inherently distracting and silly and therefore should be avoided.

If making a "close up" try to do it well, rarely does a close up look good but they can look decent so at the very least try to capture the entire cock and balls. Try to get decent or semi decent lighting and so on. And at such close range there's really no reason for the image to be out of focus.

Always try to upload high res, in focus and well lit pics.

Remember that your balls are complimentary for the penis. They aren't the focus but having them visible enhances the overall presentation. Visible > Hidden

Always try to leave some hair. Trimmed "manscaped" is fine and is in fact preferrable for the aesthetics of most men's genitals, but fully shaved is in most cases not the best look. Hair frames a dick and enhances how virile and potent it looks.

When taking pics for Reddit just use your phones native camera. If you use Snapchat or Kik or another exterior app the quality of the image is heavily damaged because those apps all heavily compress the images. They do that to save bandwidth for texting and as a consequence the image is much worse in every way. Why take a pic with an app that destroys quality when it takes the same amount of effort to just use your in built camera for no downsides?

All modern phones have a automatic timer for pictures built into their native camera apps. Find where your phone's model has it and seriously consider using it (at least every now and again). It's a great feature to take advantage of for much better pictures. Simply prop your phone someplace and turn the timer on for excellent and easy pictures. No reason to not at least try to use it.
